What is the purpose of fishing ultralight?

I am known as a promoter of fishing ultralight in my area. When strike a conversation with a fellow fisherman/women, in water or a tackle shop, almost always mention that I am a fisherman ultralight. The most common question of fishermen ultralight is not: "why?". Why choose ultra-light fishing on cane conventional methods?
