My new favorite Split shot sinker

Water Gremlin Sinkers

During the time that I've been ultra-light fishing, I've always had problems with split shot sinker. I got to the point that I started using different types of sinkers, but none as convenient as the split shot. Just a pinch in and go. Easy! If only they did not have this problem a...

The problem I experienced was: the splitshot would have their place in line with only a few molds. After that he began sliding down the line until it was too close to the seduction. As always I used super diameter thin lines (proof of 4 pounds), it was very easy for the plate to slide. This happened to me almost every time fishing.

A few weeks I received an email of water Gremlin, a manufacturer of platina, asking me if I wanted to try their free sinkers. Because I love fishing, especially free fishing gear, said "Of course". Do not ask me to write a comment or promote his sinker in any way. All they wanted was for me to tell you what I though about them.

A week later, I got the sinker in the mail. Regular shots seemed split was used for. Nothing special, I thought. There they sat about two weeks before that I decided to try it out.

When I arrived at the Lake, he tied to a magnet of trout jig and pinched in a water Gremlin divide two metres from the shooting line. I was fishing more than one hour when I realized that split shot was not falling. I mentioned this to my two brothers, who also used water Gremlin splitshots. They noted the same. I used to divide the day three shots, and my brothers used the same. For it is different stages 9-10. And guess what? There is no sliding!

Later that night, when I got home, I compared sinker WG to others that I have used normally. Immediately, I realized that the Gremlins of water were made of harder lead, while the others were much softer. The WG were more difficult to turn the line, but when it did, they stayed put.

Why water Gremlin split shot sinker are now my favorite for ultra-light fishing. I definitely recommend to anyone with problems of lack of control of platina. And if you're looking for one choice environment, Tin plates are also non-toxic. I have not tested them though, still.

* Note: always my split shot crimp with pliers for maximum suspension. I use my teeth until I discovered the lead is toxic. It is not surprising that I'm sometimes a little slow. No...
