5. Large braided lines for fishing of UL

If it has never broken a fish because of the selection of poor line or old line used, might think about one hundred yards of print queue, and therefore, line braided in its ultralight reel. Braid offers some of the highest levels of sensitivity of all types of lines, diameters incredibly thin, making it the lids cast and, as technology has advanced, even avoids knots of wind, entangled in the tip of the rod and lose its dye during a short fishing sessions. Below are five of the different types of braids that I used with high levels of success.

Sufix Performance Braid for Ultralight Fishing

One of my favorite braids for ultra-light fishing must be the performance of suffix braid. The line is slightly on the lateral side, but the old adage "You get what you pay" rings true ever buy another queue. Suffix tests its lines interlaced in some of the harshest conditions to ensure that even us humble ultra-light fishermen will get the best use of it. Their Y6 braid digital technology and coating smooth are modified, almost always, no matter what punishment can put it through. When I am using suffix Braid tie really a leader's siege of suffix.

Power Pro Spectra Ultralight Braided Line

It is difficult for me to decide which I like, the line of previous suffix or a coil of Spectra of PowerPro. In the end, the PowerPro came in second, because they have been using my drums suffix line season has not had any problems with him. Spectra has a diameter greater than the balance of power of any braided line and has a soft texture, rather than the waxy coating on other lines, making it easy to tie knots and leaders.

Berkley Fireline Braid Ultralight Fishing Line

Berkley Fireline is excellent to make projections of long and not having to worry about their knots slide as easily other types of braid or fused lines. 6 Lb test works perfectly under all conditions of fishing, Super cold autumn and evenings of winter, some of the days hottest, muggiest in the bright summer sun.

Spiderwire Stealth Braid Braided Line

SpiderWire enters the ultralight fishing market with a line of 6 lb test which has a diameter of 1 lb test, making incredibly thin. A layer of unique Teflon online help to maintain a reliable cross-section and makes super quiet during the conversion and recover. One thing I like most about SpiderWire is that they do not bleed their colors in clothes, or lose their color in the course of the season as one of lesser quality, will be the lines.

Tuf-Line Duracast Ultralight Braided Line

TuF line understands that the problems fishermen have when they are pursuing spool lines interlaced his ultralight spinning the reels. Fall to the creation of loose loops, the problems are care with broad engineering that it is in each section of Tuf-line Dura Cast braided lines. The help line to reduce noise on the line guide, knots of wind and wrapping around the tip of the rod.

Amazon-Angler.com first report from the jungle!

Steve Townson fromAmazon-Angler.com has just returned from the Amazon where he was on a two week sortie on two very different rivers, the wide, shallow Rio Araca on the Northen side of the Negro and the smaller, deeper, more romantic Rio Caures on the Southern side. Great report and photos from Steve below - if your looking for a lure fishing holiday with a difference this winter drop him a line!

At the start of week 1 we arrived on the Araca only to find us in rising water conditions. The levels rose by over 1m during the week! High water is an Amazon angler's nightmare as it puts the fish down due to cooler water temperatures and it allows water to rise over the banks and spread into the surrounding jungle, making finding fish like looking for a needle in a haystack!

With only 750 fish caught by 8 anglers for the week, most of our group caught big fish, with 18lbs being the largest Peacock Bass and a couple of 50 and 60lb Piraiba Cats were caught in the evenings. We ran the camp down river to the Rio Negro to get away from the rising levels and downwards onto the Rio Caures.

Arriving at the mouth delta of this beautiful river at the end of the first week, we found the Caures to be a completely different story, with low conditions and fish busting on baitfish everywhere. Lots of good sized fish were caught from day 1 with the largest Peacock at 22lb and quite a few 20s and 21s also caught. Many high teeners also added to the total of over 2,000 Peacocks for 7 anglers in 6 1/2 days. A few Redtail Cats also caught with the biggest at about 65lbs only.

In total we must have travelled and fished over 800 miles of rivers. A good bunch of guys and many new friends made.

Next report will come in a few weeks from Argentina for Giant Dourado at the world-famousLa Zona Lodge, followed by a week in the Brazilian Amazon for Peacock Bass at our friendly, family-run eco-lodge.

Back Reeling – Alternative to Using the Drag

Back Reeling in Ultralight Fishing

I have never heard of back reeling until I came across this video on myoutdoortv.com. It’s an interesting concept, where instead of relying on your drag, you reel backwards to give the fish line, when it makes a strong run.

I can’t believe I never though of this myself. I’ll have to try this next time I hook a large fish, to see if it has all the benefits mentioned in the video.

Here is another video from YouTube that demonstrates the Technique:
